SBV Services Media Statement: Tragic accident on the R40 in Mbombela, Mpumalanga
Houghton, 8 April 2025 – SBV Services (SBV) confirms that a tragic accident occurred in the morning of the 8th of April 2025 involving an SBV CIT vehicle and a truck. The accident occurred on the R40 in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.
Mark Barrett, Group CEO of SBV Services says, “I am deeply saddened that one of our employees has passed away as a result of this accident. On behalf of everyone at SBV, I wish to extend our sincere condolences to his family, loved ones and colleagues at SBV. We are in contact with his family and are offering our full support during this difficult time. Two SBV employees have been seriously injured and are in hospital and are being treated by medical professionals. Our thoughts are with our team members and their families for the trauma sustained because of this accident. We wish them a speedy and full recovery. As a responsible company, we take this matter seriously and are cooperating with the authorities as they conduct the investigation.”
We extend our gratitude to the Medical and Emergency Response teams, and the authorities who worked tirelessly to help all of those injured, the SBV Operations team from the Nelspruit Centre, and to the Risk and senior leadership team who were quick to respond and provide their assistance at the site of the accident.
