SBV SERVICES STATEMENT – TRAGIC LOSS OF LIFE OF EMPLOYEES FROM SBV’S MIDRAND CASH CENTRE
Houghton, 13 November 2025 – SBV Services (SBV) confirms a tragic incident on Thursday the 13th of November 2025 involving three employees from SBV’s Midrand cash centre. Two SBV employees were allegedly shot by their colleague who also took his life during this incident. Mark Barrett, Group CEO of SBV Services says, “we are extremely shocked and saddened by this incident and the loss of three of our colleagues. On behalf of the entire company, I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of our employees, our colleagues at the Midrand cash centre, and all those who have been impacted by the passing of our team members.”
Mark Barrett further adds, “this devastating incident has deeply affected our organisation, and we stand together in solidarity, offering support to the families, friends, and our colleagues affected. Our priority is to ensure that those impacted received the care and assistance they need during this difficult time. SBV does not condone any form of violence and acts that cause harm, suffering and the loss of life. We are engaging with the authorities to provide support with the investigation.”
SBV confirms that the employees were not on duty when the incident occurred and cannot comment any further. With the greatest respect for our employees’ families and their privacy, SBV does not publish the names of employees that have lost their lives or that have been involved in any incidents.
