SBV Services confirms that one of the company’s armored vehicles was involved in an accident with a pedestrian this morning, Friday 09 November 2018. The vehicle was travelling on Hope Street in Kokstad when the accident occurred. Sadly the pedestrian lost her life. Mark Barrett Group CEO says, “I am deeply saddened that the pedestrian lost her life and wish to extend our deepest sympathies to her family.”
Mark Barrett further adds, “We assure the public that our drivers are expected to uphold the laws and regulations of our country and the security services sector. They are also trained to avoid accidents and to ensure the safety of civilians at all times. As a responsible corporate citizen, SBV values human life and thoroughly investigates all incidents. Necessary action is taken when procedures are not followed.”
SBV is currently not in a position to disclose any details. We are cooperating with the relevant authorities to investigate the accident. Once the details are known action will be taken if applicable. Once again, SBV extends sincere condolences to the families of the deceased.
